On August 29, allow us to take you back to 1987: a world of mountainous hairdos, sexy saxophone solos, and unfortunate over-sized shirts. And in Santa Carla - “The Murder Capital of the World” – if the fashion doesn’t kill you, the vampires will…
Joel Schumacher’s The Lost Boys - featuring not one, but BOTH Coreys! – is an unorthodox take on horror archetypes, a brilliant and stylish blend of comedy and horror that provided scares and laughs long before similar genre-blenders like Scream and Shaun of the Dead. Michael (a brooding Jason Patric) and Sam (a hyper Corey Haim) move to Santa Carla (AKA Santa Cruz…) with their mom Lucy (a perfect-as-always Dianne Weist), and while mom’s looking for a job, Michael and Sam start to make friends with the locals. For Michael, that’s vampire David (Kiefer Sutherland) and his gang of bloodsuckers, including beautiful love-interest Star (Jami Gertz); fortunately, for Sam it’s the Frog brothers (Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander) – comic book vendors by night, vampire hunters by day!
A limited number of $15 tickets will be available at the gate starting at 6:30pm. CASH ONLY.
