A night of classic horror cinema kicks off The Birds, starring Tippi Hedren as Melanie Daniels, a well-coiffed socialite driving an hour outside of San Francisco so she might use a pair of birds as part of an elaborate practical joke. But the joke is on Melanie when increasing numbers of hostile and extremely violent birds converge upon a delightful, scenic Bodega Bay. After being jostled by a seagull, Melanie is met by Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor), and the two join forces to attempt to make sense out of all this bird malarkey – if their winged foes don’t get them first.
